Maksym Palenko is a Ukrainian book graphic artist, illustrator, and animator from Dnipro. He graduated the Y. Vuchetych Dnipropetrovsk Art School and the Ukrainian Academy of Printing.
Since 2006, Maksym has been collaborating with leading Ukrainian publishing houses, illustrating about 50 book editions. His works have brought success to many books, particularly the “Dzhury” trilogy, which received the Shevchenko Prize. Palenko also worked as a production designer for the animated film “The Book of Shadows” and created designs for music albums. In 2012, he was ranked among the top five Ukrainian illustrators by the Robert Bosch Foundation.
In addition to book illustration, Maksym creates social graphic works and collaborates with international publications. He is the author of the “Oleksandr Pol” postage stamp and has received awards for his contribution to supporting the Ukrainian army during the full-scale invasion.
The exhibition project features memes by Maksym Palenko that relate to the Russian-Ukrainian war and are reactions to its significant events.
